Corey is glad to be a member of the Wake Forest community. Corey has been working backstage for over 30 years, and has worked on over a thousand different productions, in both professional and educational settings. His specialties include working with the transient and evanescent art forms of lighting, sound, and music.
For 11 years prior to coming to Wake Forest, he has been overseas working in Asia. Most recently, he served was the Schoolwide Theatre Coordinator at Singapore American School, where he managed a full production schedule across four theatre spaces and other campus venues. Prior to that he was the Theatre Operations Manager and Technical Director for the two theatre spaces at Chadwick International School in Songdo, South Korea. He spent 13 years outside Boston at Hull High School, where he was the Music Director. He created and ran the monthly Wednesday Recital and Concert Series where he presented over 50 concerts and recitals, in addition to working backstage as technical advisor and designer for the theatre, having designed over 36 shows for the HHS Theatre Arts. Corey also served as the Adjunct Professor of Audio Recording for Eastern Nazarene College, and designed sound and lighting for ENC productions. He was a staff member at the University of Georgia’s Performing Arts Center during its inaugural season.
He was formerly in the IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) before he began teaching. He has served as a presenter, lecturer, and judge at several New England Theatre Conferences, a tech workshop Artist in Residence for International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA), and has presented at KORCOS and Google Apps for Educators conferences in Korea. He recorded the ENC Gospel Choir’s Rated ENC album and the Greater Boston Vineyard’s First Songs CD (available on iTunes).
Corey has family roots in High Point and old Salem, and is glad to move to Winston-Salem with his wife, Anna, originally from Ukraine.
