Cameron Michles (’23)

The play Killing Gilderoy by senior Cameron Michles was among six winning 10-minute plays to be featured in Barter Theatre’s College Playwrights Festival.  The competition celebrates undergraduate students in southern Appalachian states with winners having the opportunity to have professional stage readings of their works and attend workshops with professional playwrights.  The festival will be held February 17-19 in Abingdon, Virginia.  Get full details on the festival HERE.  

In addition to playwriting, Cameron has appeared in numerous University Theatre productions and will perform the upcoming production of Silent Sky.  She is a senior from Pensacola Beach, Florida studying Psychology, Theatre, and Neuroscience. She has been seen onstage in This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does NothingMen on Boatsholding the mirror up to NATURE; Gruesome Playground Injuries; Julius Caesar; and and most recently as Masha in The Three Sisters. Offstage, Cameron directed last year’s AAP production of Proof.  She also conducts research with the Theatre and Neuroscience Departments on creating theatre for neurodiverse audiences, with which she hopes to make theatre more accessible for everyone.
