Studio Series II opens March 23

Posted on: March 4, 2015

Studio Series continues our tradition of offering a showcase of student produced work. These one-acts are designed, directed and performed by students. Senior directors, supervised by faculty, form a production company and present their work in the Ring Theatre during the Spring Semester. Seating is limited, and admission is FREE with Season Pass or $3 at the door (cash only and price includes NC sales tax). Please note that latecomers will NOT be seated in the RING after the doors close.

Productions include:

Long Ago and Far Away, directed by Blakeney Oliver. The show focuses on trendy New York couple, Gus and Laura, as they prepare to pack up their apartment and head to a new place. They’re moving to a bigger place, but does the future offer them anything better? What begins as a night of celebration between the two, quickly turns into an argument about life, death, and the fear that we might all simply disappear one day. Through the fears of this couple, the play explores time travel, grief, and so much more, offering a number of unexpected twists and turns.

The Problem, by A.R. Gurney and directed by Emily Nedvidek.  A wife reveals a secret to her husband and quickly discovers that he has a few of his own. The play escalates hilariously as the couple shares secrets and attempts to solve an unsolvable problem.

The Watchers, directed by Isabella Curry.
