The Wake Forest University Theatre will open its season with She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen, which will be directed by the Director of Theatre John E. R. Friedenberg.

Agnes never shared her geeky younger sister Tilly’s love for Dungeons and Dragons, but after tragedy strikes, Agnes sets off on a quest to understand her dorky, weirdo sibling and the fantasy world she loved. Qui Nguyen’s fantastical play ‘She Kills Monsters’ takes us on the journey of a colorful group of misfits as they battle demons, dragons, prejudice, grief, and win acceptance.

Scenic Designer is Dahlia Al-Habieli, Teacher-Scholar Postgraduate Fellow in Theatre.  Lighting Designer is Assistant Professor of Theatre, Kevin Frazier.  Costumes are designed by Tyler Wilson, Supervisor of the Costume Shop.  Mary Wayne-Thomas will design the puppets. Current students Tori Spong is stage managing, and Cheyenne Zuck is sound designing.  The cast consists of Tracy Wegner, Izzi Einhorn, Katy Milian, Matthew Zoltners, Christian Carty, Sierra Leslie, Gwyneth Lonergan, Christain Trevathan, Anna Hibbert, Tiffany Nunez, Hannah Menaker, Mellie Mesfin, Parker Cabiness, Charlotte Wu, Cydney Meadows, Jessica Wang, Alex Kratochwill, Trey Sutton, Hugo Hernandez Villagra, and David Liakros.  Cat Mizzi is the Assistant Director, and Dramaturg is Eli Bradley.

Performances are September 22-23 and September 28-30 at 7:30 PM and Sept. 24 & October 1 at 2:00 PM on the Tedford Stage of the Scales Fine Arts Center.  Tickets are $15 adults, $12 senior citizens, and $7 students (price includes sales tax).
