Assistant Teaching Professor
MICHAEL KAMTMAN regularly teaches THE 110 (Introduction to Theatre) and has also taught THE 140 (Acting I) and THE 130 (Dynamics of Voice and Movement).He moved to North Carolina from New York in 1988 to work with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival for his first of 15 seasons as an actor/fight director. Michael has also directed over 100 productions in the Triad, including 8 operas. He has worked with the American Singers Opera Project since 2007 and directed productions of The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, and Falstaff that were performed in recent summers here at Wake Forest.
He holds a B.A. from Bucknell University, an M.A. from the University of Connecticut, and an M.F.A. (Directing) from UNC-Greensboro. He has taught at Davidson College, Greensboro College, Guilford College, Salem College, UNC-Greensboro, High Point University, and Guilford Technical Community College. He is also a teaching fellow in the Lloyd International Honors College of UNC-Greensboro.
